A Community-Born Idea

The event was born from a simple conversation more than a decade ago, when two well-known Durham personalities—each deeply embedded in the city’s food, beer, and arts communities—recognized how much more they could do together than separately. They shared a vision for an event that would champion local talent, bring new energy to downtown, and give back to the city they loved. Pooling their relationships, resources, and time, they built the first Bull City Food & Beer Experience from scratch. Thirteen years later, that same grassroots spirit still anchors the event and continues to shape its growth.
